Landslide risk monitoring

Ge­o­sig­ma was com­mis­sio­ned by Gö­te­borg local autho­ri­ty to mo­ni­tor the lands­li­de risk are­as within the district du­ring 2010. The aim was to pre­dict lands­li­des in good ti­me and, the­re­fo­re, to pre­vent them in are­as within the ci­ty of Gö­te­borg which are par­ticu­lar­ly pro­ne to landslips.

De­scrip­tion

The sur­vey was car­ri­ed out in around 20 loca­tions within the ci­ty’s built-up are­as. The work in­vol­ved a fi­eld in­ven­to­ry and risk as­sess­ments. The in­ven­to­ry focu­sed in par­ticu­lar on ero­sion, fractu­res in the ground and un­su­i­tab­le fil­ling ma­te­ri­al. In ac­u­te ca­ses, me­a­su­res to re­me­dy the si­tu­a­tion we­re pro­po­sed.
