Project and objectives

The internet service provider Bahnhof’s new server centre, known as Pionen, lies 30 metres below the Sofiakyrkan (church of St. Sophia) in the Södermalm district of Stockholm. According to Bahnhof, Pionen is by far the most modern and reliable server centre in Sweden. Geosigma was involved in both the planning and construction phases. The server centre is housed in an existing rock chamber which was previously used as a nuclear fall-out bunker.
