Rosersberg road junction
Project and objectives
The Rosersberg junction will connect the Rosersberg industrial park and the suburb of Rosersberg to the E4 motorway. This will improve access both to the industrial area and the residential district. For the people who live in Rosersberg, the new junction means that heavy traffic will disappear from the small roads in their area, which will improve road safety and reduce noise. The aim of the project is also to enable the Rosersberg industrial park to be extended.
The client for the project is the Swedish Transport Administration, which is also responsible for co-financing the work, together with the Sigtuna local authority and Kilenkrysset. The junction is expected to be completed in late 2012/early 2013.
Description
The task includes producing a complete set of construction documents for the Rosersberg junction and its connections.
Geosigma is responsible for the hydrogeological aspects of the project. This is an important consideration as the groundwater table must be permanently lowered to enable the junction to be built on the chosen site. In order to prevent fine material in the layer of soil under the Arlanda railway line from being washed out and to avoid groundwater flows causing damage to the road embankment, a cut-off wall will be built alongside the railway line.
